Returning Teams:
Our U12 girls team returns for its fifth season together and our U12 boys team returns for its second season. These two teams developed a unique relationship over the past year and have continued to train and work hard together since the end of last season to improve both teams performance on and off the field. The Junior season starts the first weekend in November.

New Teams:
ZYSL would like to welcome our two newest competitive soccer teams. The U9 boys team under the direction of coach Vern Bradley and the U9 girls team will compete in the United Soccer Association's Academy program.

The "Academy Format" allows clubs to form an academy program which will include all age appropriate players in a single group. Clubs are then be able to change their game day rosters for each "team" on a weekly basis. No standings or scores are posted by the league. Groupings are based on Geographical alignment ONLY, to the extent possible - no divisional alignments and no "superior" groups will be formed or allowed. The purpose of facilitating the Academy format is to allow clubs to focus on player development, with no emphasis on results or scores. This is in agreement with the direction from FYSA, USYSA, etc.
